*** New volunteers ... before booking this event please click here to book a taster session. We offer tasters once a month (usually on the 3rd Wednesday) where staff can support new volunteers with training on health and safety, and completing induction paper work. ***


These sessions are for volunteers who are signed up, please see above for how to sign up as a regular volunteer.

Volunteer activities:

Pruning, digging, clearing, building, watering, harvesting! Volunteers on the Heritage Garden sessions are never short of a mixed variety of tasks! There is something for all levels and abilities, and a welcoming, social atmosphere.

Meet at Ransom Road entrance by 10am.

We will then walk together to the Heritage Garden (about 10 minutes into site)

  • Session time 10 am (meet at Ransom rd gate) - 2pm.
  • Activities include practical gardening and maintenance outdoors.
  • We provide hot drinks and biscuits, but please bring snacks, lunch, and water.
