Design and craft your own stained glass sun catcher. Choose from three designs and learn glass cutting, foiling & soldering
Join us for a creative, hands-on stained glass workshop where you’ll design and craft your very own sun catcher to take home.
In this relaxed and inspiring 3-hour session, you’ll choose from three beautiful design options — a hexagon, square, or window-style piece — and transform colourful glass into a unique decorative artwork perfect for your home.
Perfect for complete beginners and those with a little experience, this immersive workshop will guide you step-by-step through the process of creating a shimmering stained glass sun catcher.
What to Expect
Design & Glass Cutting
With guidance from Sarah, you’ll explore your chosen design and learn essential glass cutting techniques using clear float glass. Once you’re comfortable, you’ll select from a range of coloured glass and begin shaping your pieces.
Foiling & Assembly
After cutting and refining your shapes, you’ll clean and dry your glass before applying copper foil. You’ll then solder your pieces together to bring your sun catcher to life. Pre-made jump rings will be provided so your finished piece is ready to hang.
Finishing Touches
We’ll clean away any remaining flux, and you’ll have the option to apply a patina for a darker, more traditional finish — or keep your solder lines bright and silver.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a beautiful handmade stained glass sun catcher to display in your window. Stained glass is a rewarding craft that transforms simple materials into something truly special — and while it takes a little patience, the results are well worth it.
The session includes a full health and safety briefing, covering all essential precautions and an introduction to the tools and equipment.
