Stand Up Comedy workshop

Wild Walks is a combination of foraging and an immersive theatrical experience. Internationally renowned expert forager Miles Irving - author of The Forager Handbook, has joined up with the Nature Hunters of Medway Play Lab CIC. Everyone from 8 to 100 years old is invited to team up and complete tasks which will help save the planet - starting with their local green space. There will be challenges and attitudes to change, but together, we can do it!

Stand up comedian Andy Storey leads a 2 hour workshop, where you learn the tricks of the trade and have a go in front of a friendly crowd.

Things to prepare for the workshop. <ol><li>WatchAndy’sYouTube showreel.</li><li>Bring a notebook and pen.</li><li>Make a note of 2 comedians that you love. Write down word for word one of their jokes that you love. (2 jokes)</li><li>Think of 2 things that have happened to you in your life that could be used as material for humour.</li><li>Think of an object or social convention that you hate. Example: Soap dish, flannel, jumper OR Small talk, Hand shake, singing Happy birthday, the hairdresser.</li></ol> AndyStoreyhasbeen a professionalstand-upcomedian for the past 12 years.He haswalked out on stage at over two and a half thousand shows and performed at the London Comedy Store and the The London Palladium. In 2020hewrote and starred in a comedy advert for Nationwide Building Society. The mission in our two hour workshop is to learn how to mine and dig for comedy gold in our everyday personal experience. The comedic tools we will use are; Brutal honesty, singular attitude, assumption, pull back and reveal and misdirection. We don’t have to try to be funny. The comedy is already there. We just have to be open and honest.
