Melissa Addey spent fifteen years in business, developing new products and mentoring over 500 entrepreneurs. In 2015 she became a fulltime self-published author and has a PhD in Creative Writing. She has been the Leverhulme Trust Writer in Residence at the British Library and written and published seventeen books, including twelve historical fiction novels, non-fiction and a picture book for children. Fancy an evening of creative writing, talking and delicious food in a welcoming traditional tea room? Then this is for you. A three-hour creative writing workshop for beginners and those who have been away from writing for a while or can’t seem to find the time. Your evening includes a buffet of homemade sandwiches and sweet treats to keep your energy up for all the writing you’ll be doing (you may bring your own alcohol if you wish – it worked for Hemingway!). A fun and creative night out, perfect if you fancy bringing along a friend or for bookclubs and other groups. Or come along by yourself and meet other people in the area who love writing!

The workshop is run by Melissa Addey, who holds creative writing workshops at the British Library and is doing a PhD in Creative Writing at Surrey University. She writes historical fiction as well as non-fiction on a range of topics.  
 
Your ticket admits one person and includes a buffet of homemade sandwiches and sweet treats.
 
(We don’t take cancellations but if you can’t be with us on the day you’ll still receive a pack of resources so you can have a go at all our exercises at home.)
