Join PRONI for a workshop on early records relating to Ireland on Tuesday 11 June 2019 at 11.00am. This will be an opportunity to discover the subjects covered in the State Papers Online, which can be accessed in PRONI’s Search Room. There will be a demonstration on finding records on various Irish themes, and you will be supported in reading and transcribing some examples.
The State Papers Ireland is a key resource for researching the history of Ireland between 1509 and 1782. All communities are represented in these records, including the Gaelic and Catholic Irish, Ulster Scots, English settlers and the descendants of the Anglo-Normans. The State Papers includes correspondence, reports, memoranda, and parliamentary drafts from ambassadors, civil servants and provincial administrators which are an essential resource for tracing Irish ancestry back to the 16th century.
Admission is FREE, however booking is essential.
PRONI does not require you to print your tickets.
