The event is organised by SteemCampUK and co-hosted by Lloyd Davis and Shani Lee.Bios:Lloyd DavisLloyd Davis is a social artist and master community builder. He has been blogging and podcasting since 2004. With a diverse background that includes theatre, information management and public service regulation he has acquired a unique, in-depth and practical understanding of the social web and building rich relationships online and off-. Having founded London’s highly influential Tuttle Club which for 10 years regularly attracted the UK’s brightest social media thinkers and doers, Lloyd writes, speaks and consults about these uses of social technology as well as how blockchain and cryptocurrencies are changing the way we organise stuff that needs to get done. Lloyd has been blogging on the STEEM blockchain since August 2016 and is the founder and facilitator of SteemCampUK.Shani LeeShani Lee is the Co-ordinator for the London Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Consortium, the largest pan-London coalition of specialist VAWG providers. She believes the Steem blockchain provides opportunities to address some of the challenges that voluntary organisations and local authorities face, and offers new affordances for fundraising, distributing funds and demonstrating impact. She's been blogging since 1998 and teaching social reporting since 2010. She was the co-ordinator for NLAB at De Montfort University, an innovation project which explored the potential for social media to create wealth. She has an MA in Digital Media and Society and has been blogging on the STEEM blockchain since July 2017.

SteemCampUK

SteemCampUK is a participant-led, day-long, unconference for people working on, or otherwise interested in the Steem blockchain and its applications.
NOTE: We have moved this unconference back to May 11th 2019 to avoid clashes with other events.
The day is about exploring and sharing with others the potential of the whole Steem ecosystem to change all our lives and deciding what we might do, together and individually, for the greatest good.
SteemCampUK will be in the Studio at the Phoenix - Leicester's city centre venue for independent film, art and digital culture. The venue is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from Leicester Rail Station, and about 20 to 30 minutes from St Margaret's Bus Station. The nearest car parking is at the NCP in Halford Street, LE1 1TQ.
Drinks, lunch and other refreshments are available from the cafe bar.
