Overview

Screen, Stencil & Stamp Workshop

On this one-day workshop you will learn how to print onto fabric, using two different silk screen printing methods, which can then be done at home.

Learn how to make an embroidery-hoop silkscreen. The blocking out method is then used to block out any areas you do not wish to print. This can then be printed and repeated to make patterned fabric. You will also learn how to cut out paper stencils using freezer paper. This method creates a one-off precise stencil print. You can also make foam stamps to stamp onto fabric using fabric printing inks.

Tools and inks will be provided please bring an apron to keep your clothes clean.

Please bring a selection of images and or motifs to work from.

Please bring some plain cotton fabric to print onto.

Sue Bedford is an artist and art teacher. Originally from Surrey she moved to the Essex/ Suffolk boarders 28 years ago. Where she is inspired by the natural world and many of her works are closely observed form her surroundings.
