Stockport’s Proper Good Business Club is an opportunity for businesses and Social Enterprises to come together to identify practical solutions to address some of our society’s most pressing issues, on a local level.
It’s the opportunity to make a difference SEE the difference and BE the difference, on the ground, in your workplace, in your home and in your community.
At the first Club meeting we had over 40 attendees made up of local businesses and Social Enterprises. Some of the outcomes of the meeting included:
- One of the businesses secured a new client
- Concentrix made a new connection with The Parently Group and are now working together on a task group to improve employee transport options on Bredbury Park Industrial estate
- Venue space secured for the next meeting (through CDL)

What support is available for businesses?
In this meeting we'll explore what services and support is available to businesses in Stockport when it comes to Social Value / CSR / ESG or simply Proper Good business.
We'll be exploring:
- Introduction to Match my Project - Stockport Councils app that matches needs in the sector / community with offers of support
- What support is there to set up / refine your Social Value / CSR / ESG offer
- Corporate Volunteering Support
- Creating a Social Value pledge for Stockport. What would it look like and how do we get more businesses involved?
There'll also be a chance to network with likeminded businesses.
