Join us for a Basket Weaving Workshop where you can learn to create your very own beautiful storage basket!

Onion/garlic wall storage basket weaving workshop

Create your very own wall basket using traditional weaving techniques. These handy baskets are a perfect useful and beautiful storage solution for your onions/garlic or whatever you like! Learn about different types of willow, how they are grown and processed, and the tools you need for basket weaving.

During the day you will learn and practise a variety of different weaves. You will construct a round base using a pairing weave, followed by waling, and construct the sides using a packing weave to help make the curved shape needed for this basket to be hung on the wall. Top it off with a woven border and little handle for hanging! This event is perfect for beginners and seasoned weavers alike.

All materials are included in the course price and tools will be provided.

Throughout the day refreshments will be provided including a delicious lunch. Please arrive in time to start promptly to ensure you have time to finish your basket.
