Overview

Waterstones Children's Book Festival in Dundee

Join Pauline Tait for an interactive storytime and craft session based on The Fairy in the Kettle, the first book in her multi-award-winning trilogy. During the event, Pauline share a reading that introduces children to Leona and her precious kettle home, bringing the sights and sounds of the story to life in an engaging and accessible way for ages 3 to 7 years. After the reading, children can enjoy hands-on craft activities inspired by the book. Children can make fairy finger puppets, fairy wings, fairy wands, and enjoy colouring images from within the trilogy.

The session is warm, welcoming and designed to give young readers a fun, memorable experience with plenty of opportunities to join in.

Suitable for children aged between 3 to 7 years

Pauline Tait is a multi-award-winning and bestselling author of children’s picture books and emotionally charged fiction for adults. With a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of the publishing industry, she offers professional, supportive mentoring for children’s authors at every stage of their journey, whether finding their feet, growing in confidence, or exploring a new genre.

Her picture books are created to help young readers grow in confidence, with engaging stories, thoughtful layouts, and language that nurtures a love of reading.

Alongside her work in children’s literature, Pauline writes emotional, suspense-driven fiction set in Scotland and beyond. Her adult novels bring danger, healing, and slow-burn romance together as ordinary women face extraordinary challenges, exploring resilience, second chances, and the courage it takes to begin again.

Living and writing in rural Perthshire offers her the perfect backdrop of peace and inspiration. Surrounded by rolling hills and dramatic lochs, the beauty of the Scottish countryside continues to fuel her creativity.

The Child Book & Ticket bundle includes a copy of Fairy in the Kettle (RRP £9.99), available for collection at the event.

Please especially note that ticket holders 16 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult but parents/guardians accompanying their children to this event do not require a ticket (one accompanying adult per child with ticket.)

The event may be filmed and photographed, as an attendee you consent to footage of you being used for promotional purposes.
