Jyotsna Srikanth is the most sought after South Indian violinist in Europe and composer known for her versatility and ability to collaborate with different genres seamlessly and with ease. She has flourished as a performer and composer, exploring lush ground in the crossover between Indian music and a variety of world music & contemporary flavours. Her violin playing has a nice blend of musical expression and emotion with good technique, a result of 'three decades of experimentation’ as per a critic.
She has collaborated with world, classical & jazz musicians of renown & has played violin for over 300 Indian movies. She is currently working on Indian violin concertos and has been working with string quartets & string orchestras.
Vindla String Quartet was formed in 2008 in Malmö, in the very south of Sweden. The quartet has cooperated with numerous Swedish pop, jazz and folk musicians and is considered to be one of Sweden’s most interesting chamber music ensembles. Vindla has always been guided by curiosity, an openness to different genres and means of expression and they strive to continuously reinvent the string quartet. Among their many collaborations can be found artists such as Tingsek, Miriam Bryant and Ramy Essam, jazz musician Lina Nyberg and key fiddle virtuoso Emilia Amper.
