Study Visit: Goldwork

This study visit will give you the opportunity to examine up close some of our finest examples of goldwork and metal embroidery. We will look at samples of fine English ecclesiastical embroidery, elaborate domestic textiles and garments from Persia and India and precisely worked goldwork accessories from China.

The session will be guided by the collection's Curator who will talk you through each set of objects and point out interesting details about them such as the different threads, techniques and styles.
