Learn how to start scoping and managing data projects, without needing technical data science skills.</h3>A﻿t this point, we've all heard the term "data science", but what does it actually mean in practice? And how can any business or organisation - however large or small, and whatever sector it sits in - make use of data science techniques to create value and become more successful?O﻿ver the past five years, we at the National Innovation Centre for Data have supported 100+ public and private sector organisations to develop their data science capabilities, and as a result we have deep experience and knowledge of the data science project process. W﻿e're excited to now be sharing some of our most valuable insights with a broader audience - including you! - and are thrilled to announce our new Success with Data Science workshop, taking place at <a href="https://www.thecatalystnewcastle.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Catalyst</a> on Thursday 1st June from 1.30 p.m. Curious? Then join this 90-minute workshop to:<ul><li>G﻿et to grips with key terms in the field of data science, and familiarise yourself with the data science project process</li><li>L﻿earn more about how data science can help you make evidence-based decisions that can, in turn, help to run an organisation more effectively</li><li>U﻿nderstand why project scoping is important, and learn practical ways to scope a data science project using project charters</li></ul>T﻿he Success with Data Science workshop is designed to be relevant to all organisations, therefore no prior experience in or knowledge of data science is required. Simply come as you are!

<h2>A﻿bout your host</h2>D﻿r Matthew Edwards started at the National Innovation Centre for Data as a Data Scientist in early 2019 and was promoted to Senior Data Scientist earlier this year. During this time he has supported countless organisations to improve their data science capabilities and has been instrumental in introducing the principles of project scoping both to our team at the Centre and to the teams we've collaborated with.O﻿utside of work, Matthew enjoys bouldering, travelling, film and TV. He also has a passion for teaching, so he's thrilled to be hosting the Success with Data Science workshop series this year!
