Sue Ryder Christmas Treecycling Peterborough

Overview

Register your real Christmas tree to be collected and recycled, and support Sue Ryder's expert care with an optional donation.

Recycle your Christmas tree this January and make a donation to support our work

Our team of friendly, reliable volunteers will collect your real Christmas tree directly from your front door, front garden or driveway and recycle it as woodchips for biomass solid fuel, or as an organic mulch in gardening, landscaping and ecosystem restoration.

Sue Ryder does not make any money from chipping the collected trees. Please make an optional donation when you register for our Christmas Treecycling service, so that no one need die or grieve alone.

Last year's Treecycling collection raised enough to fund 6,671 hours of care, thanks to kind supporter donations

Where we'll be collecting

We'll be collecting from Thursday 8th January to Friday 16th January 2026 in these postcodes:
PE1, PE2, PE3, PE4, PE5, PE6, PE7, PE8 and PE9
Capacity is limited, so please reserve your tree collection by 4th January 2026.

Your kind donations allow us to continue providing support for families in the local community.

  • £12.50 could help fund half an hour of our expert care.
  • £30 could help fund a Sue Ryder Nurse to give expert advice and guidance to a patient and their family about their treatment and care choices.
  • £100 could help fund our education & campaigning work to create a society that supports everyone through dying and grief.

IMPORTANT: Your tree and location

We kindly ask that all decorations and stands are removed, and that your tree is not in a pot. We are also unable to collect trees taller than 10ft.

Please make sure that your tree is placed outside by 8.00am on 8th January and left out until it is collected. This should be up to and including 16th January. If our volunteers visit your location and are unable to find your tree, they will pop a postcard through your door with instructions on what to do next.

If your tree is difficult to reach with a large van or pick up, or located away from your property, please provide access details when registering it and include your what3words location.

If you require a collection of three or more trees, please call us on the number below.

You can contact our team by calling us on 01733 225 999 or emailing thorpe.fundraising@sueryder.org
