Overview
This one-day interactive workshop is aimed at anyone seeking to improve their understanding and awareness of working with suicide and self-harm. The knowledge individuals gain can be applied to a broad range of situations, whilst also looking at risk within palliative care.
Fully funded by NHS Sussex, this session is open to all Sussex employees in health and social care.
If you are based outside of Sussex, a £100 charge applies.
Topics include:

- Assessing risk of Suicide for patients within the Community and inpatient units
- Develop appropriate active listening and communication skills
- Increase awareness of legalities, policies and procedures, including assisted suicide
- Reflect upon own resilience and self-care
There is every effort to include trigger warnings where appropriate, however, it is important to acknowledge that we cannot know or understand potential triggers for all attendees.
The session is designed to provide training and further knowledge and should not be undertaken as a form of non-clinical therapeutic intervention or counselling.
