A bit about Suicide&Co

Suicide&Co are a new charity with the mission to support those bereaved by suicide, and open up the conversation around suicide-related grief. Suicide loss can be isolating due to the stigma around suicide, so individuals are often left to navigate complicated grief alone. Suicide&Co support individuals bereaved by suicide through building a community where someone can come for information, support and the counselling therapies they require.

34,146 individuals are directly bereaved by suicide every year in England and Wales, and Suicide&Co understands that navigating suicide loss alone is incredibly hard and talking about it to a professional is an incredible support to offer, when counselling is so inaccessible to many!

They've recently launched a resource that can help people to open the conversation around suicide-related grief and bereavement - and so we're hosting a webinar on World Suicide Prevention Day to take people through it!

The session will run for 1 hour at 1pm on Friday 10th September, over zoom. The presentation will not be more than 25 minutes long, leaving time for questions.

The presentation will be led by Co-Founder of Suicide&Co, Amelia Wrighton, who has lived experience from losing a parent to suicide but is also a seasoned public speaker.

What can you expect from this session?

"Our Conversation Guide is a resource that can help people have better conversations around suicide-related grief and bereavement. We’ve created the guide from lived experience and consulting the literature out there but this is the first guide that is just about having conversations. In this session we will provide tips for those supporting the bereaved and tips for those bereaved themselves, but this presentation is aimed at everyone as it’s a very stigmatised topic and 1 in 5 people in the UK are affected by suicide.

The guide will live on our website, but we have created a version that we can deliver through a presentation to organisations, giving people tangible learnings they can take away with them, and most importantly we hope it inspires and encourages people to have the conversations!"
