Strathmore Community Rugby Trust was established on 1 June 2017. We are a charitable organisation (Scottish Charity Number SC047475) which believes rugby has the power to enhance people’s lives. We aim to instil the rugby ethos into participants, coaches, and volunteers of all ages so that they can develop and enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of rugby, play an active part in their local community, and have a lifelong involvement in rugby. We aim to operate sustainable programmes centred on our values of rugby, health, and community.

Fun, free summer activities for all age groups

Strathmore Cricket Club

We are delighted to be offering our multisport camps again this summer for pupils across Angus which include a free lunch. Strathmore Community Rugby Trust are running these sessions in partnership with Strathmore Cricket Club and are being supported by Angus Council holiday food and fun provision.w/c 22nd July both organisations will be participating in the Forfar Community Sports Hub camps (visit Angus Alive website for more information).P1-P7 Multisports CampsOur popular multisports sessions for primary aged pupils are back!! They are open to residents from across Angus. Participants will be split into age groups and given the chance to have ago at different sports throughout the morning. Loads to do so make sure they bring a drink!Key Info:<ul><li>Dates: 2nd, 9th 16th and 30th July. Monday 5th August</li><li>Times: Drop off 9.50am - 10am, pick up 12 noon</li><li>Location: Strathmore Cricket Club</li><li>Free lunch included</li></ul>Strathie Pup’s tasters (2-5 yr olds)Come and try out an hour of our sessions for kids age 5 and under. This is a great opportunity to help your child develop key skills such as listening and turn taking, all whilst being active and having fun! What’s more, grown-ups get to join in too so it’s a fun activity to do together!Key Info:<ul><li>Dates: 2nd, 9th 16th and 30th July</li><li>Times: 10.30am – 11.30am – parents/carers are asked to stay and encouraged to get involved</li><li>Location: Strathmore Cricket Club</li><li>Free lunch included</li></ul>S1-S6 Summer ApprenticeAre you in S2-S6 and want to know what it's like to be one of our coaches? Sign up for this and get hands on experience helping at this years summer camps. Don't worry you'll still get a lunch at the end of it, you'll just have to work for it!This year we have developed the programme and are offering:<ul><li>Pre-camp training on Friday 28th June, 12 noon – 4pm</li><li>SCQF accredited course - Planning Effective Physical Activity Programmes</li><li>Opportunity is open to aged S2 upwards (14yrs – 21yrs)</li><li>Support to find ongoing volunteering opportunities with sports organisations in Forfar</li><li>Free lunch included</li></ul>Participants will be required to attend the pre-camp training along with at least 3 of the 4 holiday camp days (2nd, 9th 16th and 30th July, 9am – 12.15pm each day). Please note there is a short, written assessment which forms part of the qualification.Multisports for Grown-Ups!This summer we are excited to be offering sporting activities for parents/carers at the same time as the holiday camps. The sessions will provide parents/carers the opportunity to grab some ‘me time’ while the kids are occupied. Activities will include walking rugby, walking football, walking netball and walking cricket.
