Brands carry meaning, They shape who we are. They help make –  and are made by –  the world around us. Brands live in our hearts and minds. some command loyalty, like John Lewis and Apple. Some are forgotten, like Wood Milne Rubber Heels. Some reflect a time the now seem shocking or surprising. Consider Craven A cigarettes with their promise, “will not affect your throat”, or Kellogg’s Corn Flakes – promoted after wartime rationing as “deliciously flavoured with malt, sugar and salt.” From 40 years of Star Wars to the Spice Girls and Peppa Pig, every brand tell a story. We’re here to share them with you.

Museum of Brands

<H2 CLASS="MsoNormal">An intensive branding day-course at the Museum of Brands Advertising and Packaging.</H2>
10am - 4pm 11 August 2017 £45 per person
Take on our branding challenge and work with industry professionals: identify and analyse new audiences, research into the heritage of iconic British brands, undertake new market research in the streets of Portobello Market and create unique brand innovations for constructive critique from a panel of experts. 
 Day-course break down:
 10am - Introduction to the Museum, team forming and challenge briefing 10.30am - Research and Development #1 – Audiences 11.15am - Research and Development #2 – Product 12.15pm - Lunch break (10% off in café) 12.35pm - Market Research – Take on Portobello Road 1.15pm - Concept Development and Realisation 3pm - Presentations, prize giving and certificates 4pm Close 
Opportunity to work with industry experts:
The Museum is proud to be working with an enviable crowd of creative directors, agency founders, strategic directors and designers who will each join the Summer Innovation Labs for one day or afternoon to share their insights, support participants through the day-course and form a judging panel. Professionals joining the workshops include:
Michael Murdoch, CEO & Founder of digital branding agency The House London Ltd; Iain Swan, Strategy Director for brand experience agency Bright; Carol Hay, Director of Marketing UK & Europe, Caribbean Tourism Organization; Nick Button, Creative Director On The Button Design; Grace Holliday, Freelance Illustrator/ Mark Maker; and Dr Nukhet Vardar, Director & Founder of El Izi Communications Consultancy UK.
There will be at least two industry professionals at each Summer Innovation Lab – please get in touch if you are particularly interested in attending a workshop with a select person above.
