Sunray Lace - Launch
Free indoor textiles activity. Join us for a demonstration and a talk on traditional lacemaking techniques.
This is the launch of our long-awaited project dedicated to the preservation and revival of traditional lacemaking techniques.
We want to hear from anyone who makes or used to make lace locally. Any type - bobbin, crochet, tatting or cutwork. Come and share your creations, skills and stories.
If you want to learn or are interested in taking up lacemaking as a hobby, come and meet local experts and enthusiasts.
An introductory demonstration of bobbin lace technique will be given and participants will have the opportunity to see different textile samples.
This project runs in conjunction with our flax growing programme SOW TO SEW.
