SUPA Virtual Gathering 2020

SUPA is a pooling of physics research and post-graduate education in 8 Scottish universities: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heriot-Watt, St Andrews, Strathclyde and West of Scotland.SUPA, supported by the Scottish Funding Council, is focused on seven research themes: Astronomy & Space Sciences, Condensed Matter & Material Sciences, Energy, Nuclear & Plasma Physics, Particle Physics, Photonics, Physics & Life Sciences.

Scottish Universities Physics Alliance

Due to the current pandemic, the 2020 SUPA Annual Gathering scheduled for Wed 27th May has been replaced by online events of interest to the whole SUPA community under the title “Virtual Gathering”. While reflecting as far as possible the tradition of sharing, inspiring and engaging our community by showcasing and celebrating internationally leading research, daily screen times have been minimized by stretching the single-day AG into a three-day Virtual Gathering.

CAREER EXPERIENCE TALK Weds 27 May, 12pm – Prof Tom Brown, University of St Andrews Science and Shipwreck in the Far South Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) 
SUPA RESEARCH HIGHLIGHT TALK Thurs 28 May, 1pm – Prof Kishan Dholakia, University of St Andrews and University of Adelaide, Australia
