Supervisors and Professional Practice Consultants (PPCs) of mediators: a skills workshop with John Gray
Aimed at experienced Supervisors and PPCs, and for those practitioners who took John Gray's two-day Supervision Skills programme in September 2014.
Scottish Mediation is offering an opportunity to Supervisors and PCCs to benchmark and improve their practice. Review the core messages about the boundaries and purpose of supervision and practice consultancy, strengthen the link between how you supervise/consult and improved outcomes for mediators and their clients, and delve deeper into the nature of the supervision/PCC relationship. 
John's Biography:    
John Gray was formerly the coordinator of Face to Face, City of York Council’s mediation service for neighbour disputes.
He now works as a freelance organisational consultant and trainer with not-for-profit organisations across the UK. He has experience of service management, recruitment of staff, neighbour and workplace mediation, and of supervising service managers, Board members, staff and volunteers. In addition to facilitation of organisational change, and development of leadership teams, John also provides executive coaching to those in leadership and other complex work roles.
John has a part-time role teaching leadership and management at the University of York’s Centre for Applied Human Rights; and is in the process of joining the faculty of the Academy of Executive Coaching.
He originally qualified as a solicitor, specialising in litigation. He has also worked at the Quaker United Nations Office, Geveva; and supported grassroots peacebuilding efforts in Burundi in Central Africa, before moving to York to set up Face to Face.
 He is the author of Responding to Community Conflict: A review of neighbourhood mediation, Joseph Rowntree Foundation 2002; and A Tour of John Heron’s Feeling and Personhood, Oasis Press 2006.
