Supply Chain Decarbonisation Workstream Kick Off

This webinar will explore the insights discovered when exploring the challenges in decarbonising a supply chain in the built environment.

This webinar will provide insights around the challenges involved with decarbonising supply chains within the built environment. It will outline the key findings from a six month long scoping process and highlight the barriers and challenges the industry faces. There will be opportunities to hear directly from experts in this field who are undertaking pioneering work to decarbonise. Finally, the team will outline what the future holds for this UKGBC workstream and how we intend to support industry, and we will let you know how you can get involved to help drive progress. The built environment is responsible for 25% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions and to rapidly decarbonise the industry must mobilise towards this common goal. At the core of any industry’s activity are complex supply chains that necessitate collaborative work to gain the clarity, agreement and support needed for climate action. For most built environment organisations, emissions within their supply chain make up the largest proportion of their carbon footprint, so simply addressing one’s own, direct emissions is not sufficient. To address this challenge, UKGBC is working with industry experts to establish an ongoing workstream that will bring cross-sector collaboration to overcome some of the barriers and challenges facing supply chains. After this Kick Off webinar, UKGBC will launch the call for Project Partners and Task Group members.
