About this event

Are you a SEND school educator in Greenwich?

Do you feel confident discussing topics like misogyny and gender-equality with students?

Do you feel equipped to deliver key elements of the RSE curriculum?

Join us on 9th May 2024 at 16:00 for the next stage of our 'Ending Gender-Based Violence Teacher Toolkit' training: a free, 1 hour and CPD accredited online session as part of the Mayor’s Office’s £1 million pledge to support London’s educators to address Gender-Based Violence.

As an educator, you play a vital role in safeguarding children and young people. This session, Support Children and Young People with SEND to Understand Relationships and Gender Equality, will support you to:

• Boost your awareness of Gender-Based Violence and its prevalence in Greenwich.

• Increase your knowledge on the topics discussed within the Toolkit.

• Help develop your skills in talking to children and young people with special educational needs about relationships, gender equality, and their rights and responsibilities.

The session will include:

- A brief overview of the Gender-Based Violence discussed within the Toolkit, with guidance around how to deliver the Toolkit activities in a format accessible to SEND children and young people.

- An opportunity for you to network with colleagues across the Borough and share practice.

- Information on local support services available to you as an educator and for those impacted by Gender-Based Violence, to help you support children and young people.
