About this event
Anxiety in children is rising and it's showing up in ways many adults don’t recognise.
It’s not always panic attacks or tears. Sometimes it looks like anger. Avoidance. Perfectionism. Withdrawal. School refusal. Even physical illness.
Too often, these behaviours are misunderstood leading to frustration, missed opportunities for support and breakdowns in relationships.
That’s why it’s more important than ever that parents, carers and school staff understand the many faces of anxiety and how to respond with empathy, clarity and confidence.
On 8 July 2025, we’re delighted to welcome back the expert team from Bridge the Gap, who specialise in helping children feel seen, heard, and safe to boost our knowledge and understanding about anxiety.
What you will learn:
- What anxiety really is and how it differs from general worry
- How anxiety presents in children (emotionally, physically and behaviourally)
- What’s happening in the brain and body when a child is anxious
- Strategies and tools that help children regulate and feel supported
- How to build trust and strengthen your relationship with an anxious child
- What works in real life — whether you’re a parent, teacher, TA or SENCO
The webinar is ideal for both parents and professionals.
