During this session, we will discuss the challenges that parents/families are experiencing as a result of lockdown - the impact of a child&#x27;s loss of routine, losing a support network, parent carers having to take on full time caring roles, and families who have lost a lot of respite and face to face support because of Covid-19. Along with our expert panelists, we will offer you a support network and community, and will share relevant resources and sources of practical help.Our panel includes:<ul><li>Pete Lock, Habilitation and Implementation Lead at Guide Dogs with extensive background in working with SEN children and young people.</li><li>Rebecca Liddiard Head of Specialist Support Service at Sense</li><li>Mary Bairstow Low Vision Optometrist and SEN parent</li><li>Helen Nuttall, Teacher for Multisensory Impairment for Thomasson Memorial Sensory Support Service and studying QTMSI</li><li>Steve Rose, Independent Speech and Language Therapist and Consultant on Deafblindness</li><li>LOOK mentors. </li></ul>Throughout this online session we will also:<ul><li>Support parent carers who are feeling vulnerable under the pressure to teach their children who need to be home schooled. It is an overwhelming time for so many.</li><li> Support families with additional needs. Those parents and carers who have now become their child&#x27;s physio, OT, music therapist and teacher. </li></ul>School for so many of these vulnerable children was a safe haven where their needs were met and they could thrive outside of the family unit. This situation is putting so much pressure on these families now. Look&#x27;s webinar offers a place to listen to others, to share, to connect and to have a sense of community and support network.We&#x27;ll be announcing our expert panellists on our social media feeds soon.This webinar will be hosted on Zoom and joining instructions will be sent after registration.
