<p>With a practice rooted in lens-based media, Kajal began documenting working class people across the UK and India, often focusing on the intersectional lives of South Asian women and the politics of power. Hierarchies of artisanal production, craftsmanship, urban-industrialisation and the ongoing exploitation of feminised labour, recur as themes and are represented through mixed media and textiles. Her work is underpinned by Karl Marx's theory of alienation, within the present day structures of neoliberal capitalism. </p>
