Module 8 - Managing difficult conversations and conflict
About this event
In this session we will look at how to approach difficult conversations sensitively and give you the tools and techniques to manage them. We will explore why conflict occurs and the different conflict ‘modes’ that people adopt when dealing with conflict and how to manage and resolve it effectively.
Objectives –
This session will help you to:-
- Understand the causes of conflict and have an awareness of the different conflict styles.
- Understand the theory of ‘Emotional Intelligence’ and ‘transactional analysis’ and the importance of operating in the ‘Adult’ ego state
- Use a range of tools and techniques to help you manage difficult conversations and conflict.
All the sessions will be facilitated virtually via Zoom and will provide an opportunity for people managers to work together, exploring their challenges and sharing best practices as well as gaining new insights, tools and techniques.
Once you register for the programme, we will send you a skills diagnostic and further details of each session to help you choose the sessions that will be of most benefit to you.
Who can participate?
The programme has been designed to support those with people management responsibilities. The programme is fully funded, with all costs being met by Care Development East on your behalf.
