Sustainable Hackney 'In Our Hands' Film Screening, Q&A & Green Drinks
Event Information
Description
This is the first in a series of films Sustainable Hackney will be screening, covering a wide range of sustainability themes.
The Film
In Our Hands is the story of a new kind of farm, a new kind of food and a new kind of society. Food and farming is in crisis but it need not be this way. The industrial food system can be replaced and the film introduces a growing movement of farmers and food workers who are creating vibrant farms, living soils, thriving food markets and a fairer food system for all. Read more about the film here and the Landworkers Alliance, who co-produced the film as a call to action.
Q&A
The film will be followed by a Q&A with a panel of local food growers and campaigners, including VegBox champions; Growing Communities, Sustain’s Campaign Coordinator for Food and Farming Policy; Vicki Hird, and OrganicLea, a food growing permaculture workers' cooperative and teaching enterprise with Ru (who features in the film) and a member of the Landworkers Alliance.
