An in-person sharing best practice event on how to support swift populations during the development process.
An amendment to the Natural Environment Bill (Scotland) that would mandate the installation of swift bricks in all suitable new buildings has recently passed a key stage in the Scottish Parliament. This half-day session is aimed at those in the building industry - specifically developers, architects, and planners - to equip participants with the knowledge to install low-cost swift bricks in the right place.
The informative morning will comprise of talks and discussion on best practice for conserving and enhancing swift populations through the development process; including talks from planners and architects, and hearing about local case studies.
The session includes a brief site visit to view swift boxes in situ where attendees will hear more about their installation and the Angus Coastal Swifts project.
The Safeguarding Swifts in Development Guidance Note will be introduced followed by a discussion session with the opportunity to comment on content.
During the event there will be opportunity to network and form working connections with other professionals in the industry.
The following draft Agenda for the morning will be updated once finalised.
