[synonym] session x Kelvingrove Writers

The Burrell CollectionBellahouston, Glasgow
Saturday, Feb 28 from 10 am to 12:30 pm GMT
Overview

GalBag is excited to collaborate with Kelvingrove Writers as we focus our attention on The Burrell Collection.

This [synonym] session is looking at...

The Burrell Collection to explore, examine, and enliven the objects within the space.

With their vast collection of objects there are many mediums, histories, and even controversies to extract and interpret using your imagination, pen and paper.

This event is 2.5 hours long rather than the usual 2 hours to accommodate for the magnitude of option and allow yourself more time to connect with an object(s).

This session like all of our sessions does not require previous writing experience and the same goes for not needing to know the history of objects. If you do want to prepare for the session, we would recommend TJ Clarks' The Sight of Death (2006) as it is a great example of a creative means of accessing the world within an art object utilising the internal elements as well as the external.

The things you will need for this session is a notebook, writing tool of choice and yourself. Like our other sessions we will meet at the venue, introduce ourselves, spend time writing alone and then together and perhaps sit down somewhere for a cup of tea for further discussion.

All are welcome, we aim for this workshop to be casual and for this group to give space for all voices, expertise and experiences and very much encourage people who wish to also develop or exercise their writing.
