There’s a lot of talk within the sector around strength-based practice and asset based work, but what does it really mean to work in a truly person-led way?Based on years of experience developing a whole systems approach to strength-based work, <a href="https://maydaytrust.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mayday Trust </a>is delighted to be working with the <a href="https://www.frontlinenetwork.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Frontline Network</a> to present System Reflect, a one-day session that shares the learning (and sometimes the pain) of developing and delivering the <a href="https://maydaytrust.org.uk/whats-it-all-about/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Personal Transitions Service (PTS)</a>, a highly personalised, grassroots approach that places power and control in the hands of the people, not the system.This session is experiential and allows for reflection on the current deficit based system, debunking some of the myths around people going through tough times. It aims to challenge mind-sets and behaviours around ‘fixing’ and power dynamics, explores how strength-based approaches work in practice and how internal culture and external systems need to change to create the environment for people to genuinely take the lead.What will be covered?•	Reflection on the current deficit/ needs based system•	Overview, background and development of the Personal Transitions Service•	Reflection on the effects of the current system for the people we work with•	Fixing and segregation•	Strength based, person-led approach in practice•	Internal culture•	Contributing to wider systemic changeWhat will you be taking away?•	Have improved understanding the current deficit system•	Reflect on and evaluate the impact of these traditional services on people going through tough life transitions, such as homelessness•	Gain a greater insight of how the current system feels for those going through it•	Gain knowledge of how PTS was developed in response to this and the benefits for people going through tough life transitions•	Learn the basics of the PTS•	Learn and practice how to apply the PTS basics in their work with people going through homelessnessWho is this event for?•	Frontline workers working 1:1 with individuals•	Managers who also do 1:1 work FREE event Lunch provided on the day- please notify us of any dietary requirements, so we can cater for these.•	Timing: 09:30 arrival for 10 start, finish no later than 16:00•	Places: 20 maximum Please note- this is only available to registered Frontline Network members.
