Join us for our November TA Workshop: Supporting Problem-Solving in Primary Maths, a focused and inspiring session designed to give TAs, LSAs and HLTAs the tools they need to help learners to become confident, independent problem-solvers.

Led by Twinkl’s Primary Maths Educational Content Lead, Becky Brown, this session will explore how teaching assistants can share strategies, use questioning and provide effective scaffolds to boost confidence and independence.

In the TA Workshop, you’ll learn how to:

• identify different strategies learners can use to problem-solve;
• use questioning to prompt thinking without giving away the answer;
• spot where a learner is stuck and select the right strategy to re-engage them;
• select and adapt resources to scaffold problem-solving tasks;
• build mathematical resilience and independence by encouraging learners to test ideas, embrace mistakes and explain their reasoning.

This session is ideal for teaching assistants, LSAs and HLTAs who want to enhance their practice of supporting maths lessons with a focus on problem-solving and investigative maths.
