A Sensory Practice within the Crumbs
Presented by MSG Collective
Host: Xinzhu Huang x MaTa Art Collective
Can we imagine that overlooked micro cultures, marginal stories, and fragmented individual experiences might gather into a powerful source of hope? In collaboration with the exhibition Crumbs, MSG Collective presents an immersive food workshop titled TACO!
In a utilitarian culture that values results over process, the small things that shape our bodily comfort and inner balance often feel insignificant. This workshop challenges the illusion of wholeness by inviting you to engage with reality in its true, scattered form. We believe that the core of wellbeing has never been the accumulation of grand moments, but rather the countless forms of the small.
During this session, you will explore five distinct tacos that deconstruct the concept of a complete meal. By handling powders, crunches, and translucent skins, you will engage in an ongoing practice of wellbeing that unfolds through the act of folding and eating. As the exhibition suggests, wellbeing does not need to be wellbeing because it can simply be the process of anything.

The Menu: Five Fragments
Taco #1
A light and airy base topped with a mosaic of garden herbs and micro vegetables. This opening bite is seasoned with sharp acidic spices and aromatic seeds to awaken the primary senses.
Taco #2
A tender and resilient wrap featuring seasonal golden grains and toasted crunches. Finished with a layer of nutritional dust and a velvety drizzle, this taco focuses on the minimal units of comfort.
Taco #3
A sturdy and crisp shell holding slow cooked protein and sharp fermented tang. Layered with earthy powders and toasted allium shards, it represents the resolved and unresolved fragments of daily life.
Taco #4
A toasted and pillow soft grain disc filled with structured sweet pulses and buttery nut fragments. Deeply blanketed in root powders, this course points toward a state of romantic comfort and psychological health.
Taco #5
A bio inspired botanical skin holding a spectrum of orchard fruit gems and a floral tea gel. Topped with a momentary popping sensation, this final taco embodies the fluid and unorganised nature of our experience.
