Overview

Designed to inspire primary level teachers and associated staff to use their outdoor environments as a stimulating resource for learning.

Join Field Studies Ireland for a certified, fully outdoor workshop designed to inspire primary level teachers and associated staff to use their outdoor environments as a stimulating resource for learning, across the Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland primary curricula.

This practical course introduces the core principles of outdoor education, exploring how place-based and experiential learning can enrich teaching and learning in every subject area. Participants will develop the confidence to adapt lessons for outdoor delivery, connecting classroom concepts to real-world experiences that promote curiosity, collaboration, and creativity.

Participants will enjoy a fully outdoor course focused on sensory, experiential, and educational activities that bring learning to life. Together, we will explore how risk, play, exploration, and curiosity can be powerful tools for engagement and development in any setting, across all stages and abilities of learner.

Throughout the workshop, we will explore practical ways to bring core curriculum areas into the outdoors. We will explore planning, risk assessing, and managing outdoor learning environments, while taking part in hands-on activities that model best practice.

This workshop is designed to empower teachers to increase their understanding of curriculum-based learning outdoors, enhancing pupil engagement and connection to place. It is suitable for primary teachers, classroom assistants, youth leaders, and others working with primary-aged children.

Expect an immersive, 100% outdoor learning experience.

Note: Field Studies Ireland can bring this training directly to your team or local environment. If you have a group of people interested in this training, get in touch and we can provide more information specific to your team or location. www.fieldstudies.ie
