Homebaked Community Land Trust is situated on the boundary of Everton and Anfield just opposite Liverpool Football Club. The organisation is run by local residents and stakeholders, who together propose a process of community-led regeneration of parts of our High Street. At the heart of the scheme is the revival of our iconic neighbourhood bakery building as a successful community business run by our sister organization Homebaked Cooperative Bakery, a long-term affordable home and a place for people to share ideas and learn from and with each other. We are in the process of developing the row of 9 houses next to the bakery into 8 beautiful homes for affordable rent and several new business spaces.Our work is based on the simple belief that we all deserve to live well. For us, that means good jobs, secure and affordable homes, great food, welcoming spaces to meet and of course amazing events!

As part of Breaking Ground festival, Homebaked CLT is joined by friends from around the world to discuss reclaiming the right to housing.

She has participated in various struggles for the right to the city, from the neighborhood movement in his neighborhood to the platform Affected by the Mortgage since 2012. Her militancy includes the defense of rights and freedom in the digital era and active participation in the promotion of 15M in the Spanish State. Pin was a councilor in the first legislature of “Barcelona in Comú” in charge of citizen participation and the district of Ciutat Vella. Thus the deployment of its policies goes through the implementation of direct democracy mechanisms with technopolitical elements, to implementation of urban planning focused on the right to the city, defense of Heritage, diversification commercial with the figure of the Official Protection Basses, the inclusion of the intercultural perspective or the work to curb tourism monoculture.									Barcelona en Comú is a citizens&#x27; and municipalist platform, driven by civil society, which eventually brought together various progressive parties, as well as people from social movements. It won the municipal elections of 2015 and since 2019 has continued to govern Barcelona City Council in coalition, holding the mayor&#x27;s office. Barcelona en comú was born with the desire to break the glass ceiling that the institutions had become for the conquest of social rights. Today, Barcelona City Council has generated a public electricity company, and is also the city council with the greatest social investment in Spain.<a href="https://barcelonaencomu.cat" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">barcelonaencomu.cat	</a>				Jess Steele, Director of Jericho Road Solutions, has 30 years’ experience of community-led regeneration. A founder trustee and now advisor to the Heart of Hastings Community Land Trust, she is currently studying for a PhD in “self-renovating neighbourhoods”.									Jericho Road provides coaching to neighbourhood groups and community businesses across England while working with government, funders, corporates and academics on national initiatives to make community-led change easier. It invests profits directly into people and projects in Hastings, including one-third ownership of the social developer White Rock Neighbourhood Ventures, a key player in the emergent Hastings Commons.<a href="http://www.jerichoroad.co.uk/reinvestment/hastings/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">jerichoroad.co.uk</a>		You Should See The Other Guy is a theatre collective led by Nina Scott and Emer Morris. They are theatre makers and housing activists who create verbatim theatre and creative workshops which share tools for resisting housing oppression. Their acclaimed performance Land of the Three Towers tells the story of the Focus E15 Occupation of empty council houses on Carpenters Estate, east London, last September. Made by those who experienced it first-hand, this playful performance is a celebration of the housing struggle that immerses you in a truly historical and extraordinary moment in the fight for decent housing.The show is devised and performed by an all female group made up of professionals, young mothers and those who have faced homelessness. Every word spoken is verbatim from residents and those involved in Focus E15 Occupation. As activists who are campaigners with Focus E15, this show is deeply personal and honest, expressing the emotional effects of relocation and eviction. Using song, imagery and real experience, this is a story of how collective community action can take on the powers that be, offering the inspiration for others to take action.<a href="https://youshouldseetheotherguy.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">youshouldseetheotherguy.com</a>Britt Jurgensen is an activist, artist and creative facilitator working within social movements (re)claiming common ownership of housing, land and energy. She lives just down the road from Homebaked Bakery and is a co-founder of the CLT and bakery coop. Britt played an integral role in developing the project into what it is today, formatting and facilitating participatory planning and design processes with other local residents and enabling co-production between public, civic and private stakeholders in the area. Britt is a board member of the CLT and in her day job works for Carbon Coop in Manchester on their energy commons team.
