All parents, carers and educators are warmly invited to join this free, discussion-based, live online session with Play Scotland, our national champion for, and expert in, play. Play Scotland will talk about why play matters so much to children and young people's wellbeing and about Play Scotland's work to make children's right to play a reality. We'll hear about Play Scotland's school programmes too which support engagement, curiosity and learning.
Please take part in what promises to be an inspiring session. Bring your play-related questions and thoughts to the event! Read more about Play Scotland and find the new Play Vision Statement and Action plan here.
*About Play Scotland
Play Scotland is Scotland’s national expert in play and strives to enable all children and young people in Scotland to have equal opportunities to participate in diverse and quality play experiences that meet their individual needs.
Play Scotland’s work is underpinned by article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the UNCRC General Comment No17, which articulates 'the need to create time and space for children to engage in spontaneous play, recreation and creativity, and to promote societal attitudes that support and encourage such activity.'
Play Scotland’s core belief is that play is fundamental to a healthy and happy childhood. As well as helping to build a world-leading policy framework for play in Scotland, Play Scotland delivers training, information and support for parents, carers, those working with children and policy-makers.
