Come along to Bermondsey Project Space for a night of live music and film exploring themes of labour, the balancing of work and play, and what these concerns tangibly mean for people, their bodies, and their lives.This event combines two long-form audiovisual pieces, In Suffolk, Working/Playing an audiovisual documentary composition by Joanna Ward and Towmond a guitar and projector performance by James Creed. Joanna Ward is a composer, performer, and researcher from Newcastle upon Tyne, currently based in London. Joanna is interested in experimenting with scores and with sound, and her practice ranges across genre and between media, usually in collaboration with other performers, artists and thinkers. Her framework is political. Her research is interested in radical liberatory futures of new music, and specifically in the philosophy, politics, and ethics of 'work' with regard to cultural production and music creation specifically.

James M. Creed is a composer and guitarist based in London. His recent music is concerned with simple materials, even simpler processes, and the use of experimental notations to pretend these simple objects are other things. More generally his music also tends to be quiet and slow, without the need for much rehearsal or training.
