Tarot & the Writing Path Part 1 (Yule Edition)
Overview
A special Yule edition of Tarot & the Writing Path!
Yule is the celebration in the pagan Wheel of the Year when we can take advantage of the natural lull in energy during winter to turn inward, assess what’s brought us to this point, and start to feel into what we might take forward when the days begin to brighten again. This is the moment of stillness we may find the clarity we need to set new intentions when the time is right, so we’ll use this time to dive deep into where we’ve been and where we’re at.
Like the other tarot workshops, there will be a series of practical tarot exercises to help you tap into your intuition so that you can apply guidance from the tarot directly to your creative and personal journey. You will get plenty of time to discuss the insights you receive from the world(s) of the tarot.
And, once again, we'll explore ways to use tarot to gain insight, generate ideas, and lay the foundations for a story. We'll look at how to use the evocative imagery of the cards for insights and guidance on the writing journey itself, and also ways to apply its archetypes and themes to access layers of character, setting, and story, whether fictional or self-reflective.
The workshop is suitable for beginner and intermediate writers.
If you have a tarot deck of your own, feel free to bring it, but there'll be plenty of decks on the day. I find the variations in style and art work on the cards to be helpful inspiration, and I want you to experience this too!
Part 2 of this workshop is optional and is taking place later the same day. The second workshop will enable you to carry forward what you have begun to write in part one. For more information on part 2, click here.
