As part of our brand new 'Tast of Art' series, join artist Sophie Derrick for an evening of culture and cuisine in the private dining room at Art Yard. Enjoy a ‘round the table’ discussion about his practice and approach whilst experiencing a three-course visual feast prepared by Head Chef Stephen Englefield, accompanied by half a bottle of wine and a drink on arrival. Reflecting the restaurant's passion for art and creativity Stephen has created a menu inspired by Sophies’s work. The event will start with an artist led demo in the hotel's very own artist studio.
Sophie was is residence at Bankside Hotel’s Makers Studio in August of 2019. During her residency, Sophie focused her time creating new and boundary exploring works and undertook a new painted face photoshoot using bold primary colours interspersed with flesh tones.

About the 'Taste of Art' series:
Bankside, the design-led hotel on the south bank of the River Thames, has announced the launch of the ‘Taste of Art’ series, offering guests the chance to take part in an interactive art and design workshop with a Bankside artist in residence, followed by a three course dinner at ArtYard Bar & Kitchen, the hotel’s art-filled restaurant.
During the Taste of Art series, guests will have the chance to meet the artist in residence, get a taste of their artistic process and learn some creative skills during an extended workshop set within the artists’ studio. The sessions, will be followed by a delicious 3-course meal prepared by ArtYard’s Head Chef Stephen Englefield, which guests will be able to enjoy in the main restaurant.
