Welcome to the TBS Educators' Conference!Date: 22nd May 2025Time: 10am - 4pmLocation: Ulster University, Belfast CampusThis event is for teachers, classroom assistants, youth and community workers, further and higher education lecturers, widening access &amp; participation staff, education support staff, students in higher education, senior leaders in formal and informal education, and policymakers.The conference will mark the launch of the new Boys’ Impact Hub for Northern Ireland, alongside the release of an educators’ practice resource - the Boys &amp; Young Men’s Quadrant. These initiatives are the culmination of over eighteen years of longitudinal research through the Taking Boys Seriously (TBS) project, dedicated to enhancing participation, attendance, attainment, and holistic outcomes for young males facing compounded educational disadvantage.The conference will include:<ul><li>A professional learning session with Mike Nicholson, CEO of <a href="https://www.progressivemasculinity.co.uk/" title="https://www.progressivemasculinity.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Progressive Masculinity</a></li><li>A keynote input from Dr Alex Blower, founder of <a href="https://www.boysimpact.com/" title="https://www.boysimpact.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Boys' Impact</a></li><li>Practice showcase sessions with TBS partners <a href="https://www.youthaction.org/" title="https://www.youthaction.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">YouthAction NI</a>, <a href="https://www.ccmsschools.com/" title="https://www.ccmsschools.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CCMS</a>, <a href="https://www.csscni.org.uk/" title="https://www.csscni.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CSSC</a>, and <a href="https://www.eani.org.uk/" title="https://www.eani.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">EA</a></li><li>Putting research into action session led by <a href="https://www.ulster.ac.uk/research/topic/social-work-and-social-policy/research-themes/taking-boys-seriously" title="https://www.ulster.ac.uk/research/topic/social-work-and-social-policy/research-themes/taking-boys-seriously" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">TBS</a> Principal Investigator Susan Morgan.</li></ul>We look forward to welcoming you to Ulster University's Belfast campus on 22nd May.
