With a colourful history of spice trading, pirate activity, Dickensian novels and overlooked by Tower Bridge, Shad Thames is an area of London that is rich in heritage. The next chapter has begun with the arrival of Courage Yard, a new multi-purpose public space that hosts an exciting mix of events, cafés and shops on the former site of the original Courage Brewery.

Ah tea. The most quintessential English beverage. A relatively late arrival to British shores, tea first became fashionable in the mid-17th century and has since endured a turbulent history of controversial taxation, smuggling, Opium Wars and, the biggest threat of all… instant coffee.  Despite all odds, tea has maintained a firm place as our national drink. But do we really give it the recognition it deserves? As part of <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/TotallyThamesUK/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Totally Thames</A> festival, Courage Yard invites you to join us for Tea Total, a one day event celebrating our intimate love affair with our favourite beverage.
A range of workshops from Tea Blending to Tea Cocktails are on offer, alongside a super zen Tea Ceremony to raise your fan status to solid tea connoisseur. Plus expect award-winning street food, an artisan tea-themed market, live DJ set by The Roustabouts and swing dancing lessons by Swing Patrol to do the Tea Dance justice.
This event is free to attend but workshops are ticketed with limited spaces - take a look to see what tickles your fancy and grab your tickets quick, as places are expected to book up fast!
