Implementing Education 4.0 in Higher Education: lessons learned from Computer Science.

How are universities getting ready for Industry 4.0? What is Education 4.0? Are you interested in how to implement innovative pedagogies in Computer Science? We are pleased to invite you to a free engagement session where we will share and discuss our lived experiences of exploring what Industry 4.0 might mean for universities in Europe. Education 4.0 is related to the view that the current Industry 4.0 is becoming more and more automated, using modern smart technology and the Internet of Things (IoT). In particular we explored how universities could prepare for Education 4.0. At present a range of eight Joint Creative Classrooms (for example Machine Learning School; Robotics: Embedded Software Development) have been implemented across 16 computer science programs in Europe as part of the Teach4EDU project (<a href="https://teach4edu4-project.eu/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://teach4edu4-project.eu/</a>). This free event is aimed at educators, academics, learning designers, policy makers, and managers who are interested in learning about how Education 4.0 might impact your practice.The session has two different formats face to face at Jurys Inn Birmingham on the 31st of January 2023 and online on Thursday the 2nd of February 2023. If you decide to join us face-to-face coffee and tea will be served during the day and lunch will be provided. As well this for the first 20 participants we can cover travel expenses up to £45*. He has published over 285 academic outputs, and is the 2nd most published author on Networks in Education in period 1969-2020 (Saqr et al. 2022), and the 4th most cited author and contributor in Learning Analytics in the period 2011-2018 (Adeniji, 2019)<a href="https://iet.open.ac.uk/people/rebecca.ferguson" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Prof Rebecca Ferguson</a>is Professor of Learning Futures in the Institute of Educational Technology (IET) at The Open University in the UK, and a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her primary research interests are educational futures and how people learn together online. Rebecca was an executive member of the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR) for four years and is currently one of the Editors in Chief of the Journal of Learning Analytics. Her work has been influential in shaping the field, supporting implementation across Europe, and promoting a focus on social learning analytics and on ethics. <a href="https://iet.open.ac.uk/people/christothea.herodotou" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Prof Christothea Herodotou</a>is a Professor of Learning Technologies and Social Justice at the Open University UK. She has expertise in the design and evaluation of learning technologies that promote education opportunity and social justice, including learning analytics dashboards, online citizen science websites, and mobile game applications. <a href="https://iet.open.ac.uk/people/francisco.iniesto" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr Francisco Iniesto</a>is a Research Associate and Associate Lecturer at the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University, UK. His areas of research and publications are inclusive design, accessible educational technology, and open education. His background is as a Computer Engineer with extensive experience in IT consulting and software development.Options to register face to face \ online*T&Cs apply.
