About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

We will be looking back and looking forward, after all a key element of learning is about reflecting on the past to drive future success isn’t it! In tech and the learning function: trends, blends and barriers David Hayden will be looking back at a key piece of research, looking forward to anticipate some trends, diving into the world of blended learning with tech and the barriers to this. Expect some conversations on AI and data along the way.

It is an interactive session – lots of opportunities to hear what others are doing in this space as well as hearing a couple of ‘hot off the press’ case studies in the next edition of Learning and Development Practice in the Workplace’ that Kathy Beevers and David are launching in November 2025.

Parking is available across the road from hotel via Lindsay St or Cannon Place

Guest speaker's profile: David Hayden

In 2024 David got his 30-year CIPD membership certificate and is still baffled by how he nearly said "no" to embracing the world of L&D way way back when he didn’t know any better. Given the responsibility of looking after three trainees on a YTS programme he has gone on to manage teams in L&D and recruitment, HR systems, been a lean engineer, MBA and CIPD lecturer and until December 2023 was the content lead for L&D and Organisation Design and Development products. In January 2024 he diverted his energy into his business “Talent Delivers” and embraced more balance with looking after his grand-daughter and travel. His Master’s dissertation was in Student Engagement with CPD, and he also co-wrote the 4th Edition of the CIPD qualification companion book “Learning and Development Practice in the Workplace" In November 2024 he joined The Learning Network at the Director of Marketing.
