Do you have Tech Devices that you no longer need and you are not sure what to do with them? Are you holding onto them because you are worried about your personal data on the device? Have they got something wrong with them and need repair?
We have teamed up with Our Tech to help you repair or recycle those devices or safely wipe and accept them for donatation to reuse if they are still viable. The devices will be assessed by a member of Our Tech staff and you will have the option of having the hard drive removed (if possible) and returned to you or having the device wiped. If the device is no longer useable, it will be taken to be properly recycled recovering valuable metals for reuse.
At this event we will accept Old Laptops and Old Tablets, phones, cables and adaptors. If you are donating phones or tablets, all passwords need to be disabled as otherwise they cannot be passed on to anyone else. We can help you with this. If you need a device repaired and returned to you, it will be assessed and you will be advised regarding purchase of the parts required.
Please come and talk to us about other larger items (monitors, tower computers, printers etc) you may have and we may be able to advise and help but don't bring larger items into the Hub this time as we may not be able to store them.
On arrival if there is a queue for the service you require, you will be given a ticket and we will take your phone number. You can wander off to do other things in the Glades and we will call you when we are ready for you.
The Hub is located upstairs in The Glades next to HMV and Waterstones.
