BetaDen, Worcestershire’s first ever commercial tech accelerator have launched a new ‘Tech Talk’ series designed to bring together the manufacturing footprint of the county with innovation leaders together with the aim to support technologists working in companies across the county.

This brand-new series for 2019 will home in on the key sectors that thrive within Worcestershire: Advanced Manufacturing, AgriTech and Cyber Security. The series is set to stimulate sharing of information, knowledge transfer and topical discussion with the vision to support ideas, growth and productivity within the county.  
The series has been developed to offer something new in Worcestershire, content that offers less of the ‘talked at’ model but consisting more of knowledge sharing and networking with likeminded individuals working in similar environments.  
About the Talks:  
The third and final talk in the series is: Security Technologies. Ranging from; voice biometrics, cyber security and 5G capabilities, BetaDen have saved the most topical technology to last. Taking place on the 28th of March at Malvern Hills Science Park, this talk aims to bring together the best minds currently working within Cyber and 5G. With two special guests and topic leaders from QinetiQ, and BetaDen’s very own Neil Cooke, this talk has the potential to deliver some very interesting content and knowledge sharing.

17:20 - 17:30: Introduction and Welcome from Linda Smith - CEO BetaDen
17:30- 18:00: Security Technologies with Guest speaker from QinetiQ and Neil Cooke
18:00 - 18:45: Open Discussion and knowledge transfer 
18:45 - 19:15: Event Close and Networking 
 
SPEAKERS:
Ben Freke (QinetiQ): Ben is a Cyber Security Consultant at QinetiQ, providing Information Assurance and Risk consultancy services to a number of clients within the UK. He specialises in assessing technical security risks, as well as enterprise cyber security and risk management.
Ben is currently working on testing the new 5G standard and is assessing the network security of trial implementations and potential vulnerabilities of features under development.
Gregory Lupton (QinetiQ): Gregory is a Cyber Security Consultant working in QinetiQ. He leads a team providing Information Assurance and Risk services, specialising in organisations with require high-assurance requirements. Gregory’s areas of expertise include enterprise cyber security, risk management and the communication of technical risks to the Board level and are currently leading QinetiQ’s cyber security testing for the 5G test evaluation programme.
