IF Oxford science and ideas Festival takes place in venues across Oxford, and online each October with events and entertainment to inspire debate and celebrate research and creativity in Oxfordshire. The Festival has a vision of a world where the complexity, wonder and opportunities of scientific research are explored, challenged, celebrated and enjoyed across society.The Festival is organised by the Charity Oxfordshire Science Festival, Charity number 1151361

The Festival is taking over Oxford’s growing knowledge quarter for the first time! This special cluster of extremes takes on the largest, hottest, most detailed and carefully constructed science for you to see. Visit Oxford Works and meet the experts at the heart of science and innovation in the city.Free parking and refreshments available to purchase.Please help us keep track of venue capacity by booking your approximate arrival time. You can arrive at any time during your half-hour arrival slot, then stay for as long as you like. Last entry 4.30pm, event closes at 5pm. Activities include:A star in a jar (UK Atomic Energy Authority)Cutting edge research (Nuffield Dept of Surgical Sciences / Nuffield Dept of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, University of Oxford)Muscle Switch (Dept of Paediatrics, University of Oxford) Surface matters (HarwellXPS)Diamond: atom by atom (Element Six)Craft a vaccine (Jenner Institute / Pandemic Sciences Institute, University of Oxford)Our place in space (UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK)Risky business - environmental hazards (UK Health Security Agency)IF Oxford uses Pay What You Decide (PWYD) ticketing so you can choose to pay whatever you want, or can afford. You can make your donation during booking or after the event and the amount you pay is up to you. A suggested donation of £5 per person for each event enjoyed will help secure the future of the Festival. IF Oxford is run by The Oxfordshire Science Festival (charity #1151361) and your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid, where a charity can claim back an extra 20% of your donation at no cost to you.
