Thursday, Apr 2, 2026 from 6:30 pm to 9 pm
Overview

Unlock your creativity! Join Teesside Hackspace for a beginner-friendly, hands-on induction to our Cricut Maker 4.

Ready to take your crafting, prototyping, and making to the next level?

Join us at Teesside Hackspace for an induction on our Cricut Maker 4. Whether you're looking to create custom vinyl decals, precision-cut fabrics, design personalised greeting cards, or experiment with balsa wood, this incredible smart cutting machine can do it all.

Welcome & Hackspace Tour

New to the Hackspace? We will kick the session off with a brief welcome and a guided tour of our facilities. You'll get to see the other amazing tools we have available for members (such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and electronics benches) and learn a bit more about what Teesside Hackspace is all about!

What You Will Learn on the Cricut:

  • The Basics: A complete walkthrough of the Cricut Maker 4 hardware, including how to safely change blades and swap out tools.
  • Material Mastery: How to prepare and load different materials using the correct cutting mats.
  • Software Setup: An introduction to Cricut Design Space (the software used to send your designs to the machine).
  • Hands-On Practice: We will run through a beginner-friendly test project together so you can see the machine in action from start to finish.

Who is this for? This induction is open to everyone! You do not need to be a current member of Teesside Hackspace to attend, though members who want to use the Cricut independently in the future must complete this induction. It's a great opportunity for curious locals to check out the space.

What to Bring:

  • A laptop or tablet with Cricut Design Space downloaded and a free account created (this is highly recommended so you can follow along, but not strictly mandatory, we have machines at the Hackspace).
  • A notebook and pen if you like taking notes.
  • Your creativity and questions!
