This online workshop supports participants to acquire the knowledge and confidence to make an application to borrow an object or exhibition.

TEG Online Preparing to Borrow Workshops

With support from Art Fund, TEG is offering two online Preparing to Borrow Workshops in May and June 2022.

This workshop takes place over 2 x online sessions:13:00 - 16:00 Tuesday 24 May 2022 13:00 - 16:00 Tuesday 31 May 2022This 6-hour live, online Preparing to Borrow workshop supports participants to acquire the knowledge and confidence to make an application to borrow an object or exhibition. It is a live and interactive session, based on problem solving and discussion, covering:<ul><li>The benefits of borrowing</li><li>Researching suitable objects and exhibitions for loan and hire</li><li>Making a case to borrow</li><li>Communicating with lenders</li><li>Loan applications</li><li>Fees and contracts</li><li>Sources of funding</li><li>Scheduling</li><li>Transportation</li><li>Facilities reports</li><li>Government Indemnity and commercial insurance</li><li>Security</li><li>Emergency planning</li></ul>The number of participants is limited to ensure each person receives the support that they need. Zoom breakout rooms will be used for discussions and activities in small groups. The workshop is delivered by a TEG trainer, William Brown (National Security Advisor, ACE) and Carol Warner (Government Indemnity Scheme (GIS) Manager* ACE), Katie Lloyd (Grants Manager, Art Fund), who will introduce the Weston Loan Programme with Art Fund, and Kathryn Simpson (Policy &amp; Projects Manager, NMDC )who will talk about the Lending &amp; Borrowing Principles &amp; Guidelines. As places are limited, please only register if you are definitely able to attend. Any no shows take away places from sector colleagues on the wait list for the workshop and may affect TEG&#x27;s ability to offer free online training opportunities in the future.
