Telling Stories In Harsh Environments - Photography Tips & Tricks
Overview
Ever wondered what it’s like to hang from a cliff with 15 double-decker buses’ worth of thin air beneath you or drag a heavy sled across a freezing icecap just to “get the shot”? Adventure photographer Toby Roney has done all that and more, from crossing Europe’s largest ice cap in –27°C winds to swimming with sharks in the Galápagos, and he’s learned some invaluable lessons along the way.
Now, Toby is inviting you to join him for a one-hour online workshop that blends thrilling storytelling with practical photography and career tips.
In “Telling Stories in Harsh Environments”, you’ll travel vicariously to some of the world’s wildest locations while learning how to see, shoot, and think like an expedition photographer. Toby’s engaging, story-driven teaching style will make you feel like you’re right there beside him: battling gale-force winds in Iceland, scaling a peak that tests your nerves, or capturing fleeting moments of connection in remote mountain villages.
Throughout the session, Toby will break down the practical photography techniques and creative lessons he’s learned in these extreme environments, lessons that translate to everyday shooting too. You’ll also gain career insights on how to grow as a photographer, tell stronger visual stories, and find opportunities in the outdoor and creative industries.
