About this event

Family & Education • Education

Have you ever considered that you are already a storyteller, listening to and telling stories every day? Storytelling is part of what makes us human and if we’re lucky this love of story begins when we’re very young, on our parents or grandparents’ knee, from our favourite teacher or librarian.

During these online sessions you will learn the three foundation techniques on which to build your oral storytelling skills. In this experiential and inclusive workshop all participants will be given a written story which, together, we will craft and meld into an oral tale, with your own special flavour at its core.

For those who find sharing stories a daunting prospect we assure you this will fade away quickly and easily as you work, step by step, towards sharing your first tale using this methodology. For those who already tell tales this workshop will act as a refresher, giving you the space and time to gather more stories for your repertoire.

By the end of the course your confidence and skills will have grown, thus empowering you to share rich and varied oral stories.

Most suitable for: Anyone interested in preparing crafting and sharing oral stories with audiences, big and small.

"Thank you very much for such an extraordinary training experience. The skills that I gained today I will certainly carry with me forever."

"I have learned that I can tell a story and engage 120 children; I have learned there is magic in everyday objects. I have learned that books are only the beginning. It will stay with me and change my teaching forever."

Infant School Teacher

"Brilliantly planned, structured and delivered. A glorious way to spend a few evenings!" Participant Feedback, Telling Tales online Course
